06:21 am - I'm old
So, I just finished my night shift. Couldn't really afford to take two days off for my birthday. It's bad enough that I am sleeping half the day, and had a pain in the ass patient last night that really tried my patience. Anyway, I usually come home and watch a bit of Felicity, or Gilmore girls or Dawson's creek before bed. And I though, why not have some wine. And I have a cholcolate bar from last night.
No matter how old you get, I don't think you learn the lesson, and I think alcohol is always involved in some way shape or form. I have now officially resulted to drinking at 6:30am!! (Well, I have been doing that for a few years--hehe, damn night shifts)
Anyway, I can't believe that I am 32 already. Weird how growing up just springs on you. And I thought I would be way more grown up than I am, and I am sure I will be saying that at my 40th as well, and hopefully every birthday after that. I guess you are as old as you feel.
Honestly, so far I have loved my thirties. Some really good stuff happened to me the last two-three years. And I abosolutely love the fact that no one ever guesses my age, and are quite shocked when they find out my real age. At least I got a guess of 24 last night. That's not so bad.
Anyway, I am raising my glass to all you, thank for being wonderful friends.
I'll let you all know how my birthday went. (hopefully some sordid even will happen to commemorate this occasion :)

Happy Birthday! I'm sorry I didn't say anything before this. I am terrible for remembering things. I even have it written down in my birthdays book. I have the birthday book and then I forget to look in it each month! I hope you had a great day! What did you do? HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I am also sorry...what was the exact day again? I know you told me at Amy's wedding...but I have noooo memory. How was it and what did you do?
I also feel old :( I will be 31 on Nov 2nd. A few weeks ago my doctor put on a form that I was 31, I had to change that, I didn't realize that my birthday was in a few weeks...I think I realized then that I was getting old. My 30th b-day was by far the worst....I cried in my laundry room, doing laundry...haha. Oh well.
Its all a state of mind...if you feel young you look young :)
I will have a glass of wine (red) in your honour tonight...have to make some excuse right? lol Yes, 30 sucked majorily - 31 didn't. Just like Audrey, I've had some wonderful things happen to me in my "thirties" and I've learned more about myself in the last 2 years than I did in the previous 30. Besides, they say that your thirties are the new twenties. hee hee - it's true. 32 really isn't so old. So Happy Birthday! I hope you had a great one... |
